Have you lost most or all of your teeth? If you wish to restore the beauty and functionality of your smile, Drs. Taylor, Gordon and Gordon may recommend implant-supported dentures. This dental appliance is similar to traditional dentures, but instead of being held in place with an adhesive, implant-supported dentures are attached to dental implants for support. They snap into place onto dental implants for a secure hold. Implant-supported dentures are removable, so you can take them out to clean at night.

There are three different types of implant-supported dentures: implant supported partial dentures, implant supported full upper dentures, and implant supported full lower dentures. Partial dentures are used when some of the natural teeth still remain in the upper or lower jaw. A series of dental implants will act as a foundation to hold the partial denture in place. A full upper denture is used when all of the teeth are missing from your upper arch. This denture is supported by several dental implants and unlike traditional full upper dentures, implant-supported full upper dentures do not require a guard for the roof of your mouth. Because of this, your smile will have a more natural look and feel. Lower full dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing from the lower arch. They are supported by a series of dental implants.
