If you would like to improve the color, shape, size, or length of your teeth, ask our doctor about dental veneers. Dental veneers are thin shells of tooth-colored materials that cover the front of the teeth to improve their appearance. Dental veneers in our office are made of porcelain. Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant and mimic the natural light-reflecting properties of teeth well. Our dentists may place dental veneers to repair:
- Stained teeth
- Worn-down teeth
- Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth
- Slightly crooked or crowded teeth
- Irregularly shaped teeth
- Gaps and spaces between teeth
To place a dental veneer, our dentists will first remove a small amount of tooth enamel from the tooth to receive the veneer. This will allow room for the dental veneer in your smile. Impressions will then be taken of the tooth so that a dental veneer can be custom made. Once your dental veneer is ready, our dentists will check its fit and color and make any necessary adjustments. Once ideal fit has been reached, your porcelain dental veneer will be permanently cemented in place.
